Time to Start Blogging

One year ago, this weekend I set out to complete a goal firmly established in 2014. Let me explain….in 2014 my husband wanted to attend the Siebel Institute in Chicago to increase his knowledge of brewing. At the time we owned a small bar/restaurant and were looking to add a brewing operation. Siebel was a significant expense, and I was hoping to get my yoga certification around the same time. We could not afford both. It made the most sense for him to further his training first. We agreed I would still pursue teaching yoga-just at a later date.

Five years later, I was ready, and we were saving for my immersive yoga training. The kids are older, things are moving forward with our second brewery, and I wanted to complete my certification before we opened the new location. Sounds good-right?

The Universe had other plans: I was derailed by a breast cancer diagnosis in 2019 and then a global pandemic. It was all so surreal-from being told I had cancer to the world being shut down all in 11 months-it was a weird and foggy few years. Not just for me-but for everyone. Who knew we would experience something like this in our lifetime.

I truly believe there are no coincidences-the people we need, the experiences that will shape us-they happen when they are supposed to happen. Are we victims of fate? Nope. We are presented with situations and choices; from there we design our story. We either advance our soul or repeat (comfortable) mistakes.

My experience at Harmony Yoga School in Cape Cod happened exactly when it was supposed to happen. I met the most incredible, diverse, and compassionate women. Women who are also fearless and not afraid to be vulnerable and authentic. I value this experience beyond measure, and I am eternally grateful for the Universe bringing us together. I grew so much. The lessons are with me still, and I expect to build on that growth.

Seek people that inspire you. It’s life changing.
